A player plucked from Belgian football by Alex McLeish, Alen endeared himself to the Hibs support early in his time at the club by scoring a cracker of a goal against Rangers at Ibrox. Goals however were clearly not what Alen is about, and having been utilised primarily as a defender the last few seasons have been hard for the Bosnian-born Austrian national.

Another player who is this season in the final year of his current contract at the club, Alen has shown a new determination playing on the right side of the Hibs midfield in pre-season games.
